The Board of Directors welcomes applications throughout the year.  The by-laws allow for 13 board seats. 

Roxanne Boodhoo

Roxanne Boodhoo is originally from Vaughan Ontario, and in 2018 she moved to Sudbury. Since then, she has graduated from Laurentian University in 2019 with a Specialized Honours BA in Psychology. Currently, Roxanne is pursuing two master’s programs: an MSc in Biology and an MA in Counselling Psychology.

 

Roxanne has always been passionate about volunteerism, social action, and giving back to the community in any way she can. Since moving to Sudbury, she has begun her community involvement in many avenues where she dedicates her time to make a difference.

 

Roxanne has worked in underprivileged communities and witnessed the hardships of people through her experiences in urban and rural communities, as well as various homeless shelters. She has helped and assisted the elderly, vulnerable individuals, and children with disabilities and long-term illnesses such as cancer. Roxanne has seen through counselling abused and mistreated women of all kinds, giving them friendly advice, a safe space, and positive encouragement through their darkest times.

Roxanne was drawn to the Réseau ACCESS Network Board of Directors as its philosophy aligns with her values and mission.

Kevin R. E. McCormick, FRSA

Military, Education, Humanitarian

President | Huntington University

Dr. Kevin McCormick is a Canadian citizen who continues to drive positive change in his community, country and around the globe. He is a passionate champion for education, a humanitarian of distinction, an avid volunteer, a community builder and a true global citizen. At present, he is the President and Vice-Chancellor of Huntington University in Greater Sudbury, the Honorary Colonel of the Irish Regiment of Canada, a Patron of St. John Ambulance – Ontario Council, and also devotes much of his time and talent to support organizations at the local, provincial and national levels.

Kevin’s inspirational volunteerism spans four decades and focuses on a myriad of issues and causes, ranging from education and humanitarian relief to immigration and refugee services, military support, race relations, hospice care, homelessness, youth mentorship, and more. In recognition of his leadership in these areas, he has been named as the recipient of numerous honours and awards in Canada, Thailand, the United Kingdom, the United States and Italy. Recent honours include: Senate of Canada 150 Medal (2017), Knight, First Class, of the Order of the White Rose of Finland (2017), National Commendation – Minister of Veterans Affairs (2016). In 2010, Kevin also became one of the few Canadians to be named a Member of the Most Honourable Order of the Crown of Thailand by the King for his contributions to international education and humanitarianism. He has also been recognised with numerous citations from local governments, charitable groups and professional organisations.

Kevin also has a rich history of supporting Canadian Forces members, Veterans and their families. Through Project Honour and Preserve, an international initiative led by Kevin, he has personally purchased hundreds of historic artefacts and donated them to various groups, including museums, affiliated military units, Veterans’ associations, schools, and veterans’ families. Recently, Kevin launched the Canada Heritage France Initiative, with project co-founder Marc Serré, MP for Nickel Belt. This new initiative aims to raise awareness of the excellent Canada-France relations that exist between the two countries and highlight their common history, culture, and shared values. In addition, Kevin collaborates with project co-founder Lieutenant Colonel Michael Motyl of the Canadian Armed Forces on the Service and Sacrifice Initiative—a personally funded mission to honour and preserve the service and sacrifice of members of the United States Armed Forces.

Board Commitment and Structure

Meeting Schedule: The Board of Directors meets monthly for approximately one hour. Board members may also participate in specialised committees that meet monthly, quarterly, or as determined by the annual workplan.

Governance Model: Réseau ACCESS Network operates under a governance board  model (not operational) and follows Robert’s Rules of Order for meeting procedures. This structure ensures strategic oversight while supporting effective organisational management.

Time Commitment: Board service typically requires 2-4 hours per month, including meeting preparation, attendance, and committee participation as applicable.
